The Fiber Optics Laboratory is a part of the communications group at the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay and is headed by Professor R. K. Shevgaonkar

    The laboratory has several undergraduate and graduate students doing research in a wide area of topics. The research interests of group members span from Fiber Optics to Integrated Optics and down to Photonic Switching. Besides, research is also undertaken in the field of Optical CDMA, Image processing, Printed antenna, Radio astronomy and Scattering. The group faculty members regularly contribute papers and articles to international technical journals.
