Chetan Singh Solanki has received the B.E. in Electronics and Communication from SGS Institute of Technology and Science and the M.Tech. in Micro-electronics from IIT Bombay. He has worked with Texas Instruments India Ltd. during 1999, before joining Interuniversity Microelectronics Center (IMEC), Belgium for doctoral studies. In 2004 Katholieke University, Leuven, Belgium has awarded him Ph.D. degree in Applied Science. During his doctoral study he has developed a new mono-crystalline thin-film silicon solar cell technology. He has received ‘Young Scientist Award’ from European Material Research Society for his doctoral work. He is currently an Assistant Professor in Energy Systems Engineering, IIT Bombay and associated with the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay. Dr. Solanki’s interest is in the area Photovoltaics technologies, thin-film solar cells, Concentrator Photovoltaics cells and systems and Carbon Nano-tubes.
