Currently I am working on Ultra wideband communication. Specifically I am
looking for Multi-user detection ,Multi access, Cross layer optimization and
Synchronization issues.
Few things about UWB
- It is a base band technique.
- Frequency band for UWB is 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz. , with bandwidth of 10.6
Ghz.
- PSD < -41.3 dBm/MHz.
- If entire band is used then PSD is approximately 0.5 mWatts.
- Proposed Bit rate is hundreds of Mbps to Several Gbps.
- Distance for communication is 1 to 10 mt. After 20mt or more data
rate is very low then existing wireless local area network.
- UWB differs from the Spread Spectrum from its carrierless nature.
- UWB advantages:
- Low Complexity and low cost ( as it is base band)
- Noise like signal so resistance to multipath and jamming.
- Good time domain resolution allowing to use for positionning
application
- Do not required local oscillator at receiver.
