Title: Wireless LAN security
Supervisor(s):
Prof.
U. B. Desai
Abstract:
WLAN are more susceptible to eavesdropping and intrusions.
Encryption is the most popular method used for securing the network,
but involves throughput overhead. WEP is a method to protect
Wireless LAN using encryption techniques, but has been shown to
suffer from various flaws. In order to make WLAN secure, we propose
to build a RF Firewall to be put along the periphery of the "local"
area. Also, use locatione estimation techniques to detect any client
and then classify them as friends or intruders.
