MATLAB/SIMULINK-BASED MULTI-MACHINE TRANSIENT STABILITY PROGRAMMES ------------------------------------------------------------------ A) Folder name: KRP_appr. This folder contains a transient stability programme based on the book 'Power System Dynamics-Stability and Control' by K.R. Padiyar. BS Publications, Hyderabad, India 2002. Features of the Programme: 1. Full-blown model (2.2 model) for synchronous machines. 2. Permits any simplified models, even classical model for generators. 3. Six IEEE-type exciters. 4. Three IEEE-type turbine systems with associated speed governor systems. 5. Four IEEE-type Power System Stabilizers (PSS). 6. Flexibility to use any kind of exciter/PSS/turbine with a given generator. 7. Voltage- and frequency-dependent static load models. 8. No restriction on the size of the system. Files provided in KRP_appr: a) 4_machine: Contains files related to 4 machine, 10 bus power system. gen.dat : 2.2 model gen11.dat: 1.1 model (rename it as gen.dat for making it active.) gen00.dat: classical model (rename it as gen.dat for making it active.) b) 50_machine: Contains files related to 50 machine, 145 bus, IEEE power system. c) smib: Contains files related to the example 6.6 in the book 'Power System Dynamics-Stability and Control' by K.R. Padiyar. d) trans_manual.pdf: Manual for transient stability programme. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ B) Folder name: Kundur_appr. This folder contains a transient stability programme based on the book `Power System Stability and Control' by P. Kundur, McGraw-Hill Inc., New York, 1994. Features of the Programme (in addition to the above list): 9. IEEE Std. 1110-2002 specified generator saturation model. 10. Stability studies for unsymmetrical faults (LG, LL, LLG, and one/two open- conductor(s) faults). 11. Flexibility to use different fault clearing procedures. Files provided in Kundur_appr: The main folders: For symmetrical fault study: symm_faults. For unsymmetrical fault study: unsymm_faults. The following 3 sub-folders are there in each of the above 2 main folders: a) 4_machine+: Contains files related to 4 machine, 10 bus power system (adopted from the book 'Power System Dynamics-Stability and Control' by K.R. Padiyar. gen.dat : 2.2 model gen11.dat: 1.1 model (rename it as gen.dat for making it active.) gen00.dat: classical model (rename it as gen.dat for making it active.) b) smib: Contains files related to the example 6.6 in the book 'Power System Dynamics-Stability and Control' by K.R. Padiyar. c) 50_machine: Contains files related to 50 machine, 145 bus, IEEE power system. d) Manual for symmetrical faults: manual_sym.pdf e) Manual for unsymmetrical faults: manual_unsym.pdf
