RITES related work done at IIT Bombay

From 2015 to 2017, IIT Bombay together with RITES Ltd, Gurgaon conducted a detailed audit of the ALD division, in which various questions regarding capacity utilization and improvement were investigated. In particular, proposals were made to the Railway Board using the simulation tools developed at IIT Bombay about specific changes that can be made in the near and long term to increase the utilization of the Ghaziabad-Mughalsarai section. RITES Ltd provided indepth rail-knowhow and the data to make the simulation exercise meaningful and realistic.

Programming tools used:
The mixed-rail traffic section simulator has been developed in Java. The input and output of the simulation were analyzed in Python/Bash.
