ABOUT ME

I am a PhD student in Electrical Engineering Department at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay since July 2004. My area of research is Distributed Detection in Wireless Sensor Networks. My Advisors are Prof. U. B. Desai and Prof. S. N. Merchant. I completed Masters in Engineering in Electronics from Mumbai University in June 2002 and Bachelors in Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from Amravati University in June 2000.

Ph.D. Thesis: Aggregation Schemes in Wireless Sensor Network
The problem deals with accurate detection of the occurrence of an event using a large number of sensor nodes deployed uniformly in the region of interest. Sensor nodes are considered to form a tree topology where each node makes a single bit or multibit decision based on its observation about the occurrence of the event. These information bits are communicated to the sink node in a multi-hop fashion via various intermediate fusion nodes. The focus is on developing an efficient distributed aggregation scheme which maximizes the detection accuracy. Various non-adaptive and adaptive aggregation schemes have been proposed and their performances were compared with conventional aggregation schemes.
