EDL
RULES
1. Components/wire
pieces/ connecting probes/ loose sheets should not be left scattered around.
2.
Do not keep soldering irons
directly on the table. Keep them in the stands. Read the instructions for the
soldering stations displayed nearby.
3. Be
gentle to the instruments. Do not handle the knobs and switches roughly.
4.
Only the computers provided for
hardware work should be used for interfacing your circuit. Ask the sysads
before you use them for HW work.
5.
Most of the components for your
project will be available in the lab. A list of these components will be
available in the lab and on edlab web page. Procuring components from outside
though not difficult, in most cases takes lot of time.
6.
Buy a set of frequently used tools
such as nose pliers, wire cutter/stripper, tweezer, small screw driver/tester
and a Handheld DMM to be used in the lab.
7.
Since the lab. will also be used
off-office hours, all the EDL students will be responsible for any untoward
things happening in the lab.
8.
The lab should remain open only if a person with the key permission is in
the lab. Once some one opens a lab he/she should lock it when he/she leaves
or should hand over the charge to another person who has key permission.
9. The person locking the lab should make
sure that all the ACs, Lights and fans and equipment not in use are switched
off. Also check that all the doors and windows are closed. Many a times the
windows were found open and the lock just hanging from the latch without the
door being latched.
10. The equipment should generally not be
shifted from one table to other unless VERY
ESSENTIAL. The shifted equipment should be placed back on the original
table. In case any equipment is found defective a note should be placed on the
equipment indicating the defects.
11.
Return
all the material borrowed from the lab after the final demonstration as
soon as possible failing which No-Dues certificate will not be given from the
lab.
12. Finally the lab is OUR lab, feel for it.
If you find any one doing any thing undesirable, report it. Do not talk loudly,
others may be getting disturbed. Keep the lab as neat as possible. You will
enjoy working here.
