This talk will discuss Data Converters in general and Delta-Sigma Converters in particular from an industry perspective. After a short introduction regarding Data Converter types and evolution, Delta-Sigma Converters and their applications in the real world will be discussed with specific examples of products from Texas Instruments. The second part of the presentation will cover the future directions in Delta-Sigma technology with an additional insight into Analog-to-Information Conversion.
Anand Kannan received his B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1993 and M.Sc (Electrical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1996. Since then, he has been working in Texas Instruments, Bangalore on a wide variety of Analog and Mixed Signal IC designs ranging from Linear Circuits to Data Converters and RF. He has worked on a variety of application specific products from Audio to Wireless SoCs. His primary area of interest is Data Converters with a special focus on Delta-Sigma technology.
