In the seminar, she shall discuss her PhD thesis on Electrical and Optical Optimization of Rear Contacts for High Efficiency c-Si Solar Cells which primarily includes modeling, fabrication and characterization of crystalline silicon solar cells including Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact (PERC) cells and Tunnel Oxide Passivated CONtact (TOPCON) cells. As a part of her research proposal, she shall also discuss the effect of contact geometry on the efficiency of PERC solar cells. She has been extensively involved in optimization of front and rear contacts in c-Si solar cells, performing different characterizations to study the cell performance and investigation of the test reports including loss analysis. Broader area of her research includes light trapping in thin silicon solar cells using Bragg gratings as well as plasmonic structures and investigation of contact geometry for partial rear contact solar cells.
As a recipient of Bhaskara Advanced Solar Energy (BASE) intern funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), she shall share her experience in working with Dr. Stuart Bowden at Arizona State University, USA.
Suchismita Mitra, completed B.Sc with Honours in Physics from Lady Brabourne College in 2008. She has done B.Tech in Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta in 2011 and M.Tech from the same institute with specialization in Photonics in 2013.She completed her PhD in Centre of Excellence for Green Energy and Sensor System, IIEST, Shibpur in 2018 and is actively involved in fabrication of high efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells.Her research interests include solar cells and optoelectronic devices.
