HV test up to 95KV is routine test for all outdoor medium voltage circuit breakers. The breakers have different XYZ direction geometry, bigger size and different operating voltage level resulting into compulsory manual testing. This is risky and prone to mistakes, inaccuracies in applying requisite test conditions and noting the results. The test automation of such a product is technical challenge in terms of maintaining HV clearances, noise elimination to operate control circuits, safety and reliability. The presentation includes the various means employed to meet these challenges. It includes concept, material selection, control algorithm, safety features built in to the system with 3D model representation.
