All are invited to attend. M.Tech. students who just finished their 1st year are encouraged to attend and also discuss their project work/research with him (he will be available on 5th June till 1 pm). It is compulsory for first year MTech (TA + RA) and second year MTech RAs.
Professor Apte has joined College of Engineering (a 150 year old Govt college) at Pune. Earlier he was Professor for 13 years at Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and has 30 years of research experience at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai where he did his Ph D. For over 25 years, he has conducted courses on Process Optimization using Taguchi Methods and for the last 15 years he has been studying the new method of Russian origin, called “TRIZ – Innovative Problem Solving”, and its potential in innovative research, problem solving and opportunity creation for R&D in National Labs and in Industries. In the past 5 years, he has conducted over 50 Continuing Education Programs (CEP) ‘open’ and ‘in-house‘ TRIZ courses for Indian industry, in particular 30+ courses for Mahindra & Mahindra, the auto industry. He has helped solve over 500 problems using TRIZ. Most recent course on TRIZ Innovation was conducted for Mahindra and Mahindra, Auto industry from Chennai, India.
