Audio signal processing is an engineering field that focuses on the computational methods for intentionally altering sounds, methods that are used in many musical applications. In this presentation we will introduce the online MOOC on Coursera "Audio Signal Processing for Music Applications". The content of the course is always freely available online and the next session will start in September 2016. The course is based on open-source software and content; the demonstrations and programming exercises are done using Python under Ubuntu, and the references and materials for the course come from open online repositories. In this presentation we will motivate the course and go over some of the core technical concepts that are presented in the course.
