The talk presents a description of non volatile CMOS memories with gate dielectric embedded with nano particles and nano structures. The influence of these nano particles on the performance of CMOS memory has been examined. A comparative study of CMOS memories made with Silicon and compound semiconductors are presented The new advance CMOS structures with different gate dielectric materials embedded with nano-particles have also been discussed in the talk with a possibility of future new CMOS NVMs. The experimental study of these devices are also discussed.
Prof Chandan Sarkar at present is Professor of Electronics and Engineering Department, Jadavpur University ,Kolkata. He obtained his D.Phil degree from Clarendon laboratory, Oxford University. He was 1851 Exhibition fellow of Royal Commission, UK. He was also a Graduate scholar and Junior Research Fellow of Wolfson College Oxford university . He was a visiting Research Fellow in Sweden. Germany and Italy. He joined Jadavpur university in 1987 and later he served as the Head of the Department during 2005-07. His current research interest is on Low Dimensional systems and CMOS devices. He has published about 200 research papers in journals and more than 100 in various conferences and authored four books. He guided more than 25 PhD students. He is at present the chair ,EDS chapter IEEE Kolkata Section and IEEE EDS Distinguished Lecturer.
