In recent days, G/G/N queuing systems have gained considerable interest because of their applications to call centres. To model such systems one needs to consider infinite dimensional set-up of measure valued processes and therefore the analysis becomes harder. The idea of this talk is to give an overview of the recent developments in the fluid limits for various G/G/N models with and without abandonment.
Dr. Anup Biswas is a Viterbi Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Technion, Israel, for the duration 2011-2013. He received his Ph.D. from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in 2011. >From 01 Sep 2013, he will be working as a Simons Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Texas, Austin. His research interests include stochastic analysis, large deviations theory, stochastic control, and queuing theory.
