The Internal Model Principle is foundational in control theory. This talk will elaborate and develop this principle for linear distributed systems defined by partial differential or difference equations, and enunciate it in terms of the "canonical controller" of van der Schaft.
Prof. Shiva Shankar had been in Chennai Mathematical Institute till 2019 and was in EE Dept, IIT Bombay before until 2000. His research interests lie in control of distributed systems and in algebraic methods in control. He is a visiting faculty member in the EE dept, IIT Bombay.
