Harbor-Transharbor NetworkΒΆ

In this section, we discuss the Harbour-Transharbour network and the model used for our analysis. The suburban network in Mumbai consists of mainly three parts - the Central line, the Western line and the Harbour-Transharbour line. We have selected the Harbour- Transharbour line for our analysis. The Harbour line is a branch line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway operated by Central Railways. The line is a double line and therefore does not have any fast trains on it. At Wadala Road, the Harbour line splits into two corridors, one going to Panvel and the other to Andheri. The exact split occurs 800 metres north of Wadala Road station, at a location known as Ravli (also spelled as Raoli, Ravali or Rawli) and there is no railway station at Ravli Junction. Two platforms are allocated seperately at CS T station for the Harbour line. Also the Harbour line bifurcates at Vashi into two lines - one towards T hane and another towards Panvel. All the stations except T urbhe have trains terminating in them.
