Recently, some of the services on the harbour-transharbour network have been extended till Goregaon instead of Andheri. In order to incorporate those services in our model, we extended all the present services to Andheri till Goregaon. Since there is an extra traversal time of 11 minutes from Andheri to Goregaon the following trade-offs were observed during this extension :

  • While maintaining 46 rakes for the operation, the platform constraints at CST

explained by Agrawal et. al. [8] are violated. * The platform constraints are satisfied at CST if the number of rakes are increased from 46 to 48.

The constraints are modelled in AMPL and solved using Gurobi as of now. An iterative procedure is used in order to obtain a feasible optimized timetable where the headway constraints are satisfied first and a chronological order of departure sequences from CST is obtained. This sequence is kept fixed and then the platform constraints at CST are modelled. It is observed that using this heuristic decreases the computation time drastically.
