Career And Opportunities
There are many opportunities created by the C1973 EV Powertrain Lab. Leveraging the prestige of the institute.
The C1973 EV Powertrain Lab at IIT Bombay, established through the support of the Class of 1973 B.Tech. batch, is focused on advancing electric mobility in India. The lab develops indigenous technologies for light commercial electric vehicles, a key segment in the countryโs growing EV market. It specializes in critical systems like electric motors, motor controllers, and battery management systems. With advanced equipment including CNC milling machines and active dynamometers, the lab enables precise prototyping and rigorous testing of EV powertrain components.
At the C1973 EV Powertrain Lab, we proudly bridge the gap between academia and industry. Our Industry-Academia Partnership Program (I-APP) fosters collaborative research and development, enabling companies to tap into cutting-edge advancements in electric vehicle technology. The Executive Post Graduate Diploma in E-Mobility equips professionals with the expertise needed to thrive in this dynamic field, while our short training programs provide hands-on experience and insights into the latest trends and technologies. Together, these initiatives create a vibrant ecosystem of learning and innovation, empowering the next generation of leaders in sustainable mobility and driving the electric revolution forward.
IIT Bombay has been selected as an e-Node for the project titled E-RIDES (Empowering Research in Indigenous Development of EV Sub-systems) under the ANRFโs MAHA-EV Mission to drive innovation in Indiaโs electric mobility sector. The initiative has received around โน60 crore in funding focused on Power Electronics, Machines, and Drives (PEMD), it involves 28 sub-projects, 6 partner institutes, and 22 industry collaborators. The project aims to bridge gap between academic research and industry needs, accelerating the development of next-generation EV technologies in India.
Our team at the C1973 EV Powertrain Lab, IIT Bombay is a powerhouse of experience, with our exceptional faculty members and Principal Investigator Prof. Sandeep Anand providing guidance and mentorship to our talented students and interns. This dynamic mix fosters an environment of continuous learning and groundbreaking innovation in electric vehicles.
