Selection of the topics: ------------------------ If you have any topic in mind which a particular faculty member has not mentioned, you can go ahead with it provided the faculty member concerned agrees to it. Additionally, if a faculty member has not sent any topics as yet, you may directly get in touch with him or her, and do the needful. Please request the faculty member to send me an email in this regard, as to his/her willingness to have you as a student. Again, as per the wishes of the latter. A maximum of two students per faculty member. (M.Tech Project RAs are supposed to do their M.Tech Seminar and Project under the faculty member who is the Project PI - the cap of two students for a faculty member does not apply here. A faculty member with a project will have the M.Tech Project RAs under him/her over and above the limit of a maximum of two students per faculty member.) You are expected to present your work at the end of the semester, and submit a report corresponding to the same. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Dear all, we are updating the web page fairly regularly, you can check if the correct information has been entered - you can also check the last time the web page was updated: a link has been added for that purpose, too. We regret that we may not be in a position to individually acknowledge each mail, though :-( We would appreciate if you bear with us till at least about evening each day, though the updating frequency is expected to be higher. Please also note that the decision of 2 students per faculty member was the decision of a Comm group meeting, and cannot be changed to accomodate individual requests. The purpose of the Seminar is mostly to expose one to a literature survey in a topic, and have a report and presentation based on that - the first step in research methodology. And please note that the Seminar is in no way *necessarily* linked to your final M.Tech Project (though some students may like to continue with the same topic and Supervisor - there is no hard and fast rule here). As for the M.Tech Project, we have a general rule of a maximum of 5 Postgraduate students per faculty member in all (Dual Degree + M.Tech 2 year + M.Tech 3 year) - Please note this carefully, this number is NOT 3 per faculty member. Please also spread the word to those who may not have checked their email regularly. Best wishes, - SDR (Coordinator)
