IITB faculty application form

Though it is not urgent, we will request at a later point (after the seminar, usually) the candidates to fill the formal application form that IIT Bombay has for faculty applicants. While the FSC, EE-department does not need the forms to be in this format for our processing, the information required is roughly the same. Please have a look at the form and in case your resume needs further details, please add it in your resume (in your convenient format) and send this resume. The form is kept at

  • http://www.ee.iitb.ac.in/~belur/fsc/IITBfacApplicationForm.doc
  • http://www.ee.iitb.ac.in/~belur/fsc/IITBfacApplicationForm.pdf

Please note: the institute needs the application to be in this format for processing the application in case (and after) the EE department recommends your case to the institute.

Skype (or WebEx) talk tips

We prefer having a test-run for both Skype and WebEx before the actual presentation. While video does work, there needs to be a backup.

  • If video works well, then with screen sharing, the presentation shown will be clear here.
  • If video does not work, only then we would use your slides. Please email us the slides. We prefer that the slides that we have should not have any pauses, nor any animation. We need an explicit frame number (or slide number) on every slide. Please read out the current slide number at each slide-change. (To avoid slide number being different from frame number, disable the pauses throughout the ppt. Else, the counter of the pdf-viewer is very different from the frame number. With pause, it is a new page.) Also, we show the ppt in the full screen mode, and hence cannot read the page number that the viewer shows. Speak very slowly and mention slide number again and again. Please also consider having frame titles for each frame.

If the connection fails, then we can also speak to each other on the phone. Please call the contact person on the mobile. (Please call multiple times, assuming the phone is on silent during your talk.)
