Current Work
I am currently working in novel area of mathematical
modelling and control of the Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) process
which is a promising new method for depositing thin films for a
variety of uses including fabrication of high quality crystalline
films and deposition of ceramic oxides, nitride films and metallic
multilayers.
I am developing simulation for the adiabatic expansion of
laser generated plasma in the presence of external magnetic
field. The ultimate aim of this simulation is to control the entire
process for uniform deposition of target material on substrate.
I started my work by understanding the algorithm of PIC
(particle in cell) method for solving PDE (Poisson equation). After
that, I studied the feasibility of Monte Carlo method, a
probabilistic approach for collision between plasma particles.
Currently I am concentrating on development of algorithm
using Magneto Hydrodynamics (MHD) equations for simulation of plasma
expansion. Now a days I am learning Riemann Problem. Broadly following key approaches are involved-
- Numerical Methods: Riemann Problem, MUSCL, finite
volume method, finite difference method, Boundary Condition
(Neuman, Drichlet), Lagrangian and Eulerian mesh moving, predictor
corrector method, front tracking.
- Computing: Message Passing Interface (MPI)
- Computaional Geometry: Delaunay triangulation
