Pediatric Peripheral Vision Analyzer
Our device is a diagnostic tool to measure the ‘peripheral field of vision’, primarily in children. Peripheral vision refers to the extent of person’s vision in the periphery, when fixating the eyes straight ahead. The angle of periphery usually determines the field of vision of a person. Hence testing for the peripheral vision forms an important part of an ophthalmologist’s check-up. Our team was able to develop a functional prototype which could be tested on children in a span of 3days as part of MIT Media Lab Design Innovation Workshop for LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad. Phase 2 of the project is going on to make it a real life functional prototype for eye doctors for vision testing.
