Welcome to the Photonics and Quantum Enabled Sensing Technology Laboratory of Prof. Kasturi Saha at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India.

The aim of this research group is to explore and push the boundaries of precision metrology, sensing and imaging using unprecedented opportunities presented by novel interdisciplinary research in fields like nano-photonics, classical and quantum information processing and life sciences. To this end, we wish to develop practical quantum devices via design and experimentation, thus connecting quantum theory to engineering applications. If you are interested in building one of the most advanced quantum-enabled sensing technologies labs, please send me an email (kasturis[at]ee[dot]iitb[dot]ac[dot]in). We are looking for hardworking graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduates!

For prospective PhD students: Please email me your resume and apply to the EE and CRNTS departments of IIT-Bombay through the usual bi-annual admission process using the following link https://www.ee.iitb.ac.in/web/academics/admissions. The application deadlines are usually in September and March. Candidates with CSIR, UGC and DST-Inspire fellowships are encouraged to apply. However, we also have funding support for Ph. D. students.

Special call: There are 3 open PhD positions in my group. Interested students may contact me with their CVs at kasturis[at]ee.iitb.ac.in, kasturisaha[at]gmail.com Students with background in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nanotechnology and Nanoscience, Instrumentation and Applied Physics and Quantum Technologies are encouraged to apply.

We acknowledge funding from DST – QuEST, DST – SERB, DST-SERB-POWER, DST-Inspire, ARFL-AOARD-USA, Wadhwani Research Center for Bioengineering and IIT Bombay.
