Hello and Welcome everyone!

I am working as Sr. Project Research Engineer in the Information Networks Lab (Infonet) under Prof. Abhay Karandikar in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. For the past one year, I, along with the team at InfoNet Lab, have been involved in studying the technical feasibility of TV White Space operations in India. We are currently working on the deployment of a pilot test-bed in 25 villages of Palghar District, Maharashtra using TV White Space backhaul for providing affordable broadband services in India. My interests lie mainly in Wireless Networks. My Masters Thesis involves in the Heterogeneous Wirless Networks. I worked on the "Vertical Handover in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks", developing algorithms for the handover from one technology to other. Along with theoretical analysis of these protocols, a large partion of the work focuses on software simulations and hardware implementation and field testing of these protocols. I love exploring various hardware platforms and have worked extensively on WiFi systems using the Openwrt operating system. I enjoy coding (though I am not an expert coder!) and my current work involves studying and modifying device drivers of wireless systems.

In addition to my lab work, I enjoy reading about the latest developments in the area of wireless networks and mobile communications. This includes keeping a track of various standards like LTE releases and market deployment status of these technologies, particularly in India.In addition to this I have done my start-upwith the aim of providing connectivity to the un-connected communities. Before joining IIT Bombay, I worked in the Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) under Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India under Mr. B M Baveja. He is currently Sr. Director & Scientist 'G', Group Coordinator for R&D in CC&BT group of DeitY. There I was involved in various R&D activities and Collaboration work between Indo-Dutch Collaboration for Research & Innovation in IOT. After working for 8 months, I joined IIT Bombay as Project Research Engineer. Before DeitY, I completed my M.Tech from Jaypee University of Information & Technology (JUIT) Waknaghat (Solan). It is one of the beautiful campuses of India in the Himalyan range. I did my Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Kurukshetra University. . Prior to that I did my schooling from DAV Public School, Thermal Colony Panipat (Haryana).
