    • Abstract / Poster:
Navigation is one of the essential features that we use in various commercial and personal applications every day. It has changed how we travel from one place to another, exploring a new neighborhood. Whether it is grocery delivery or tagging your selfie with location, the navigation services enabled in your smart device play a key role. Navigation technology aids nations in surveying territories, secure their borders and manage disaster response. In this talk, we discuss the basics of the receivers that make navigation possible in any device. We will discuss briefly how the satellites far away from earth help to identify one's location. Next, we go through some of the wireless transceivers' fundamentals, followed by a discussion to understand a navigation receiver architecture. Then we talk about the Global Navigation Receiver front-end we developed at IIT-B and its features. It is a non-technical talk. No pre-requisites.
