Digital Design
The development of programmable logic devices has dramatically changed the methodology of prototyping of digital hardware. In traditional designs using a large number of ICs, students spend most of the time in bread boarding. This puts limitation on the complexity of the design. Modern Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs) have made the implementation of medium capacity logic circuit quicker, flexible, and cost effective.
As a part of e-Prayog, low-cost solutions to teach concepts of digital system design are provided using a CPLD. The main objectives of the CPLD Lab are:
- to help understanding of concepts in logic design.
- to complement theory courses in digital design.
- to give hands-on experience with reconfigurable logic design.
