Although a physical laboratory is always the best way to teach a lab course, it also poses certain restrictions due to limited timings, staff availability, and instruments. The Virtual Labs initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development is aimed at providing lab training in the off-line (virtual) mode, using information and communication technology. With a virtual lab, students from different parts of the country are able to access experiments available in specific colleges/institutes, at their convenience.
