PowerAnser Labs was setup in April 2007 in collaboration with TCS. Earlier it was known as Power System Computation Lab. The association aims at leveraging research outputs to full fledged software product, primarily in the form of web services, which can be used by power utilities. Research in the lab generally involves large scale computation and optimization.
Following are the list of ongoing activities:
1. Forecasting (both short and long term) of load demand, electricity prices and wind
2. Network cost allocation
3. Power System protection
4. Analytics for efficient grid operation in presence of WAMs
5. Bid matching algorithms for Power Exchanges
6. Transmission and Distribution System Planning with emphasis on reliability
