Undergraduation

The Electrical Engineering department offers bachelor’s (four years) and dual degree (bachelor’s and master’s in five years) programmes. The Dual Degree program can be pursued in Communications and Signal processing or Microelectronics. These are some of the most sought after engineering programmes in the country, and admission is highly competitive through the  Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains and Advanced. A very limited number of students pursuing bachelor’s through JEE in other disciplines at IIT Bombay may also opt for a branch change to a bachelor’s or a dual degree programme in Electrical Engineering, if they score competitively in their first year of undergraduate.

Requirements

• Admissions to BTech in EE and Dual Degree programmes with specialization in Communications and Signal Processing (CSP) and Microelectronics are carried out at the institute level jointly with all the IITs through nationwide common entrance test called the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). • More details about JEE can be found here.

Specializations

• Communications Engineering (termed as EE1) • Control and Computing (EE2) • Power Electronics and Power System (EE3) • Electronic Systems (EE5) • Integrated Circuit and Systems (EE6) • Solid State Devices (EE7)
