Outside the curriculum
Many of our students also avail numerous opportunities for co-curricular learning. Students pursue research and industrial internships before starting their fourth year of the curriculum. Some of our students also avail exchange programs with reputed universities abroad to experience a different work and societal culture. In addition to majoring in Electrical Engineering, well-performing students can also opt for a Minor program in another discipline (such as computer science, design, mathematics, data science, and digital health), which usually requires five extra courses in that discipline. Apart from the normal BTech curriculum, students have an opportunity to increase their depth in Electrical Engineering by undertaking additional courses. By completing 24 credits (approximately four courses) from a broad list of prescribed courses, a student can earn an Honours in Electrical Engineering.
Our students also participate with great enthusiasm in various sports events, cultural events, student interest clubs, and various causes. Students who face any problem also get a lot of support in various forms. For more information about student life at IIT Bombay, please visit this page.
