Details: Energy autonomy of sensors with available power levels of uW/nW range is an open problem, which is being approached from various angles depending on the source and load power ratio conditions. At the system level, different stages in the path from the transducer to the load don’t uniformly contribute to the power consumption. Technology and cost constraints are the factors which limit uniform minimization of power consumption across various stages. Therefore, ultra low power techniques for the gradual accumulation and storage, energy release to the load and MPPT (maximum power point tracking) are on demand. In this talk example of such solution with startup circuitry, voltage booster and storage to achieve 1V output voltage for the sensor supply generator is presented.
