Event/Venue: INAE Annual Convention, December 2020
Details: Sensing, IoT/IoE, edge computing, data analytics and AI technologies are providing new opportunities for boosting various engineering solutions and products in India. Sensing modules comprising sensor interfacing, signal conditioning and signal to information/data conversion are becoming key modules at the front end of new age of ubiquitous sensing to data technologies and solutions. Integrable sensor modules demand modular interfacing, analog signal conditioning and integrable solutions compatible with the analog to data and information transformation. The solutions must suppress the noise, have the required sensitivity, and reduce effect of non-idealities. Energy autonomy is an important aspect of sensing-to-data modules to allow continuous or flexible scheduling of sensing. The aforementioned aspects are my motivation towards the chain of research activities during last 10 years. It is my pleasure to present a brief review of this research as one of INAE webinars, highlighting the outcomes and the novel aspects in the chain of low energy harvesting, sensors and signal conditioning, analog to digital conversion and techniques for the information extraction. I would like to acknowledge contributions by my team of scholars and students from the past and at present. All such graduates from all over the country are potentially able to contribute to the exciting growing demands for the novel customized and indigenous solutions.
