Work Experience

Served as Distinguished Scientist and Associate Director at Space Applications Centre, ISRO prior to joining IIT Jodhpur in May 2024 as Distinguished Professor. Joined ISRO in September 1987, soon after graduation in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University. I have more than 36 years of professional experience in ISRO, one of the leading space agencies of the world.

At Space Applications Centre, ISRO, I was leading research and technology developments for realization of satellite payloads for advanced Communication, Navigation, Remote Sensing and Planetary missions of ISRO in different capacities – Project Manager, Head of Division, Associate Project Director, Group Director, Deputy Director and Associate Director. I led design and realization of payload electronics systems of more than forty communication, navigation, remote sensing and planetary missions.

My major contributions are in design and realization of critical technologies and systems for space – Satellite payloads, Microwave and mm-wave devices, MMICs and Systems, Advanced Packaging Technologies, Devices for Quantum communication. Established four advanced technology labs in ISRO – RF GaN HEMT fab & design lab, Advanced packaging lab, Quantum devices & Photonic Integrated Circuit lab and Space environment simulation lab. Delivered state of the art systems for ISRO missions using these technologies, also they are major enabler for future ISRO missions.
